The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has participated with a range of its diverse publications in the third annual book fair held by the research department at the Iraqi council of representatives, under the slogan: "The book: Thought and life", and organized within the council event for the celebration of the Eid Al-Ghadeer and the ninth anniversary of the referendum on the Iraqi constitution. The fair that was opened by Sheikh Humam Hamoodi, first Deputy chairman of the House of Representatives, is held in the council courtyard for two days, with the participation of 25 local, Arab and international publishing houses.

This participation came after receiving the invitation of the research department at the Iraqi Council of Representatives in order to introduce and acquaint directly the deputies and the academic guests of the exhibition on the intellectual and cultural publications produced by the holy shrines. This participation that is the first of its kind, was welcomed and praised by all who have visited the pavilion, and received a good impression and positive reactions.

The number of titles with which the department has participated is of almost 180 title, with diverse publications, religious, literary and academic, as well as various releases the annual and the periodic.

It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi holy shrines have a wide participation in many fairs and festival that take place inside and outside the country, including this exhibition in which have participated the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), in order to disseminate the activities of these holy sites in Iraq so as the others can be briefed on what are their latest achievements and the extent of their cultural and architectural progress.
