Creating a modern system to control lighting and identify its malfunctions through smart screens

The engineering maintenance and construction department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has established a modern system to control lighting and identify its failures through smart interactive screens.

The works were supervised by the electricity division of the department, in cooperation with the Engineering Projects Department at the holy shrine.

The division's official, engineer Hassan Mohammed, said that "the division's staff, in cooperation with the Engineering Projects Department, has established a modern system to control the internal and external lighting and the streets surrounding the holy shrine to turn it on and off manually by means of switches installed in control panels (boards)".

"Smart interactive screens have been added to control the night lighting in terms of automatic switching off and on, and switching between red and normal lighting on the various religious occasions,"he added.

He added that"lighting that is affected by rain and other weather conditions can be controlled if they occur, such as the lighting of the dome and the two minarets, as well as controlling multiple other locations centrally through these screens and finding out if there is an error or cut in the lighting lines and determining its location and route."

According to Mohammed,"This smart mechanism depends on advanced software languages, and it is used in Iraq with few joints, but in the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine it was used more widely".
