Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Holy Karbala continues to perform cochlear implants for the hearing-impaired.
Dr. Fatima Mustafa, an audiologist and speech therapist at the hospital, said that "the staff of Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital continues to perform artificial cochlear implants that enable children with hearing loss or the elderly with hearing impairment to restore or improve their ability to hear and understand speech".
She added that" the duration of rehabilitation varies according to the age of the child, so his response is greater if he is small, in addition to the important role of parents in the training process, "pointing to"the presence of specialized doctors in this field who conduct weekly sessions for patients at the rehabilitation and speech center of the hospital."
"During the sessions, we introduce the child to the sounds around him, and then we teach him about words, letters and sentences, until he reaches a stage through which he can communicate with society,"Mustafa continued.
