The Department of Intellectual Affairs releases a new book on political developments in Liberia

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine recently released a new book entitled (political developments in Liberia (1945 - 1996).

The publication of the book was supervised by the African Studies Center of the Department.

The director of the Center; Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that"the book issued by the center entitled (political developments in Liberia 1945 - 1996) by Dr. Jafar Mahmoud Salman comes within the ongoing publications of the Center on African Affairs".

"This series represents a great opportunity for scientific and research institutions, scientists and writers specialized in African Affairs to participate in research and authorship in various historical, literary, scientific, political and economic fields related to the continent,"he added.

"The book sheds light on Liberia's post-World War II regime, its impact on politics and the development of governance under the presidency of William Tubman, as well as the transformation in economic and social aspects, as well as the emergence of opposition movements calling for democracy in the country,"he said.
