A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital performed a successful laparoscopic operation that ended the suffering of a child with severe intestinal colic that lasted for two years.
A specialist in Pediatric Surgery at the hospital, Dr. Sarmad al-Rubaie, said that "our medical team successfully performed an endoscopic operation during which he ended the suffering of a 13-year-old girl with severe intestinal colic with chronic constipation that lasted for two years due to complications of a previous surgery to remove the appendix."
He added that"the patient visited the hospital multiple times, after which it was decided to undergo an exploratory and therapeutic laparoscopic operation at the same time, to find out the presence of severe adhesions between the intestinal mesentery and the anterior abdominal wall in the area of the previous operation, which led to obstruction of the colon and its partial blockage".
"The operation was performed using the endoscopic laser device, which greatly facilitated the conduct of this type of complex operations, and the adhesions were completely freed through it, and the large intestine became free inside the peritoneal cavity, after which the baby left in good health,"al-Rubaie continued.
