The Ministry of Communications presents the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine with a number of postage stamps

The Ministry of communications, represented by the general company for mail and provision, has donated a number of postage stamps to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

This came through the company's participation in the events of the Al-Kafeel Information Technology Forum in its first edition, visiting the pavilion of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the holy shrine, and reviewing national projects, including the Iraqi Knowledge Portal project, supervised by the cataloging and Information Systems Center.

The general director of the company, engineer Zeinab Abdul Sahib al-Banna, said that "the participation of the general company for mail and savings in the Al-Kafeel Forum for Information Technology came at the invitation of the cataloging and Information Systems Center, and we, in turn, contributed to the Iraqi Knowledge Portal website, which is interested in Iraqi stamps, and is considered one of the Iraqi wide documentation projects in the archive and the collection of Iraqi heritage in one place, to benefit researchers in this field".

She added, "so far, we have presented the Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine with 303 postage stamps of various addresses, including about Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and the March of the Arba'een, and meeting the fatwa of efficient defense, and the Stamps will be published on the Iraqi portal site within the postage stamps side".

The forum events were held at Al-Ameed University for the period from October 30, to November 1, 2023, with the participation of a number of departments of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, to review their experiences in the technical field in terms of applications, programs, websites, platforms and all their technical details, and included many scientific workshops and specialized exhibitions, to translate the vision of the Holy Shrine aimed at keeping pace with the development and modernity witnessed by the world, relying on Iraqi minds.
