At the Al-Kafeel Hospital.. Surgery saves a patient from the risk of quadriplegia

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has successfully performed an operation on a patient suffering from multiple dislocations of the cervical vertebrae that caused her weakness in the upper and lower extremities.

The specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, Dr. Khaled al-Sarraj, said that " we recently had a successful operation to remove multiple slips from the cervical vertebrae of a patient in the fourth decade, who was at risk of quadriplegia because the slip was severe and caused pressure on the spinal cord, which led to weakness and numbness in the upper and lower limbs."

He added that" after the necessary tests were carried out, the decision was taken towards surgical intervention before the patient's health complications occurred, "pointing out that"the team was able to remove the pressure slides on the spinal cord completely and without any health complications, as the patient left in good health."

"The modern technologies provided by the hospital and the expertise of the Iraqi medical team enabled us to perform various spinal operations and other complex surgical interventions,"he said.
