The eleventh night of Muharram was faced by Saint Zaynab (peace be upon him) with great patience..

The eleventh night of Muharram is the night of bereavement and misfortune, the night of grief, tears and groans for the lovers of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and those martyred with him from his family and companions. It was the first night in which Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) was left on the desert of Karbala, beheaded from the scruff and naked with neither a turban nor a robe... The night faced by Al-Aqeelah Saint Zaynab (peace be upon her) with incomparable patience.

And what a night it was for the daughters of the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) whom lofty eminence never forsook ever since they were born! It was only yesterday that they lived in the pavilions of greatness and the chambers of dignity, lit during the day by the sun of Prophethood and during the night by the star of Wilayah and by the lanterns emitting the radiance of sanctity. During this night, they were left in the pitch dark, having lost those shining lights, their belongings plundered, their tents burnt, fear overwhelming them.

They remained among the corpses of those who used to be their protectors. Now they have neither protectors nor defenders. They do not know anyone who could defend them if they were to be attacked, or who would repel those who might terrorize them, or who would calm and pacify those who have lost their loved ones. Yes, there were among them children crying in anguish There were mothers of children waned by the arrows, sisters of those who were martyred, mothers who lost their sons. And they were mourning their dear ones.
Next to them were body parts amputated, corpses slashed and cut, necks covered with blood. And they were in a desolate desert... Behind the low marshes stood the army of treachery savouring its “victory”: the recklessness of winners and the meanness of vanquishers. Besides all of this, they did not know what the morning would bring them and what the caller would announce...

Therefore, in continuation of the condolences processions that the people of Karbala are accustomed to establish, on the evening of Tuesday tenth of Muharram -The desolation night "Laylat Al-wahshah" of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) - condolences processions went out to console Saint Zaynab and Imam As-Sajjad (peace be upon them) for what happened to them in such night before almost 1400 years, recalling the state of the orphans and women of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) by reading the ordinances of the eleventh night, punctuated by rituals of theatrical representations that embodied what happened to the children and women from the family of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) during this sad night...

The processions during their parade, have created a sad atmosphere for this painful night, which made the visitors imagine the harsh and bitter moments experienced by the holy family of the Prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household). Noting that both holy shrines were enlightened by dim red lights to commemorate this night, and many of the visitors and mourners kindled candles inside the holy shrines and in the area between them.
