Surgeons of Al-Kafeel Hospital perform heart operations for children in Sulaymaniyah

Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital announced that its surgical team has started performing heart operations for children at Anwar Sheikha hospital in Sulaymaniyah governorate.

The head of the Department of cardiac surgery at the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Aboudi, said that "our team specialized in pediatric cardiovascular surgery has started performing open heart operations at Anwar Sheikha hospital for a number of children with congenital heart abnormalities".

He added that "these operations are the first clauses of the joint cooperation agreement with Anwar Sheikha hospital, as its cardiac surgery team will be trained at our hospital, and operations will be performed by us at them, and there are other programs that will be implemented later in various medical and technical fields".

"Our consulting clinic has seen a number of children with congenital heart abnormalities at Anwar Sheikha hospital over the past two days, and we will conduct the first group of operations for two children from Sulaymaniyah and two others from Kirkuk,"he added.

According to Aboudi,"our surgical team, and his support team specializing in anesthesia, artificial heart machine, intensive care and nursing, have been dispatched to the governorate, and these cases will be under his full supervision until they reach a stable health status."
