Jordanian researcher: Al-Kafeel museum is distinguished by maintenance and restoration from other museums in the region

Researcher Khalaf fares Tarawneh from Mu'tah University in southern Jordan confirmed that the Al-Kafeel Museum of treasures and manuscripts is distinguished by maintenance and restoration from others in the museums of the region.

This came through his visit to the museum to participate in the activities of the fourth international Al-Kafeel Museum conference, which is held under the slogan (museums are a cultural identity) and under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine, for the period (23 – 24/ 11/ 2023).

"I followed the Al-Kafeel museum by reading and collecting information about it before my visit, from the books and brochures published about it, and I got acquainted with the maintenance and restoration division, which distinguished its work from the museums of the region, although most of them have maintenance and restoration departments, but it lacks the distinctive effort and qualitative work in the restoration of some pieces,"Tarawneh said.

He added that"the preservation of most of the collections requires a distinguished integrated team in the maintenance and restoration of most of the museum's collections, and this is what distinguished the Al-Kafeel Museum from others".

"Through our follow-up, we found that the museum was able to obtain a huge amount of documents, manuscripts and treasures that were suffering from obliteration and disappearance, or disappeared for lack of interest in previous eras,"he said.

Speaking about his participation in the fourth Al-Kafeel International Museum conference, which will be held on Thursday morning, Tarawneh said that he will present research on archaeological and Heritage Museums, specifically folk museums and their collections of minerals, antiques, carpets and antiquities.
