The servants of the Holy Shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) commemorate the martyrdom's anniversary of Imam As-Sajjad (peace be upon him)..

On the afternoon of Wednesday 25th of Muharram corresponding to the 19th of November, 2014, the servants of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine went out in a condolences procession to commemorate the martyrdom's anniversary of the fourth of Imams of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the most beautiful of worshippers, the master of prostrators Imam Ali son of Al-Hussayn (peace be upon both of them). the procession started from the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and headed towards the shrine of Imam Aba Abdillah Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to present their condolences to him for the martyrdom of his son, recalling with chants the sad occasion that befell the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), welcomed by the servants of the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) with chants of sorrow and grief, holding a funeral gathering in which some elegies were presented to recall the life of the Imam (peace be upon him) that he lived in pain and sorrow for the tragedy that has befallen on his father Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and also for the injustice and misfortune of the rulers of his time from which he suffered.

Imam As-Sajjad (peace be upon him) is Ali son of Al-Hussayn son of Ali Ibnu Abi Taleb (peace be upon them all), he is the fourth of the Imams of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), known as Abu Al-Hassan and his titles are "Zayn Al-'Abideen" -the most beautiful of worshippers- and As-Sajjad -the one who prostrate a lot-. His mother was Shah-Zenan daughter of Yazdgerd, he was born in Medina in the year 38 AH, and lived two years in the time of his grandfather the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), and ten years with his uncle Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) and eleven years with his father Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), then he lived thirty four years after his father's martyrdom, he was poisoned in Medina in 95 AH, he had then fifty seven years old.

The History books have cited unanimously that Imam As-Sajjad (peace be upon him) was seriously ill during Ashura days that he wasn't able to stand, and fainted from time to time, and that he was following the events of the battle on his sickbed, he requested from his Aunt Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) in the last hour of the battle to help him stand up and to give him his sword to defend his father Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) when he heard him calling:"Hal min naserin yansarouni?" meaning: Is there anyone who will come to my assistance? Or, is there anyone to respond to my call for aid?

After the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), Imam As-Sajjad then was the Imam, so Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) came to him when the enemies have set fire on the tents, asking him what they should do in this case, so the Imam (peace be upon him) told her: "O Aunt, Take the widows and the children and flee from the tents. Allah will protect us. Without you, no one will be left to carry on the message, and my father will have died in vain!"

Then, Peace be upon you O my Master, the day you were born pure and witnessed the tragic advent of At-Taff, the day you were oppressed and poisoned as martyr, and the day you will raise alive!
