Green belt: establishment of a nursery for planting trees and plants to supply green oases and export the surplus to the market

The staffs of the southern green belt Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine have started establishing a nursery for planting trees and seasonal plants within the project.

Mr. Tanweer Sadiq Saeed, one of the staffs of the Department, said that "the department has established an nursery in Oasis No. (32), where ornamental plants, flowers and trees that are suitable for weather conditions are grown, and this step comes within the project plan to achieve self-sufficiency as the first stage".

He added that "the project planted vegetable crops in addition to trees and seasonal flowers, which are divided into summer and winter plants, and the number of seedlings planted is about (40,000) seedlings; with the aim of supplying green oases in the Belt, and marketing through the nursery of the Great Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) Oasis No. 1, in which flowers and trees produced are sold to citizens".

"The Department's staff has built more than (10) greenhouses in which vegetable crops were planted, including eggplants, cucumbers, and peppers, to supply the host of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and export the surplus to local markets,"he added.
