Khair Al-Joud company for modern industrial and agricultural technology in the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has achieved success in hydroponics to obtain a healthy product free of chemical fertilizers.
"Hydroponics (floating agriculture) is internationally approved, for many reasons, including rationing in the use of water sources, in addition to the exploitation of land that is not suitable for agriculture or unsuitable for any crop, due to the high salinity of the land,"said Falah al-Fatli, consulting engineer at the company.
He added that "hydroponics has achieved success at Khair Al-Joud company, and today we are growing lettuce crop in greenhouses, where the area of each of them is estimated at(500) square meters, and contains about 4300 plants".
"The process of designing the planting ponds was done by local means, where we built the water molds with block material, and they are covered with plastic material to contain water without any leakage,"Al-Fatli continued.
"The plants are equipped with dissolved oxygen gas and given nutrients manufactured in the company, as well as the solutions of Khair Al-Joud company," he explained, noting that "the experiment is successful and we note the production is of high quality and without any cost, and the product is free of Chemicals, Fertilizers and pesticides, and the farmer can adopt this experiment and take water as an agricultural medium."
