Department between the two Shrines: (53) buses transport the elderly in various axes of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine

The Department between the Two Holy Shrines at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine revealed the provision of (53) buses for transporting visitors with special needs and the elderly, in various axes of the holy shrine.

The assistant head of the Department, engineer Kadhem Saleh Mahdi, said that"the department provides several services to visitors, including the 53 buses, to transport visitors with special needs and the elderly, distributed on seven axes of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

"Three vehicles were allocated to provide services to all departments, a vehicle to carry funerals and transfer them from the main pieces to the door of the Qibla, and (48) buses of different sizes between (6, 8 and 14) passengers to transport visitors,"he added.

He explained that"the transport axes are the southern axis and includes Abbas Street (peace be upon him) from the side of al-Qibla gate to the intersection of al-Jomhuriya Street, and the northern axis includes al-Hawra Street (peace be upon him) and Baghdad gate street".

He continued, " our vehicles also provide transportation services from the side of the Baghdad gate Square to the Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah Almighty hasten his holy reappearance), and from the eastern axis, they transport visitors on al-Alqami Street and Safeena Street, as well as the street leading from the Bab al-Khan area and the brigade 34 control intersection".

"The department has allocated a number of its employees to maintain the vehicles and freight vehicles of the department, as well as the rest of the departments of the holy shrine," Mahdi said.
