Karbala Directorate of Agriculture: the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine was singled out for industrial potato cultivation

The director of Karbala Agriculture, Eng. Mohammed al-Tayar, described the agricultural projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as successful and unique in the Karbala desert.

This came during his visit with his accompanying delegation from the Directorate's departments to the Ferdaws Farms project supervised by Lewa Global Company at the Holy Shrine.

"As part of our tours to follow up on agricultural projects, the areas allocated to the holy shrines, and to find out the reality of agricultural investment, we conducted a field tour at the Ferdaws farm of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine," al-Tayar said.

He added that"the works carried out by the holy shrine in all its agricultural complexes are successful projects, and attract many working hands, and the successful experience of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine and the Lewa company is the cultivation of industrial potatoes for the first time in the Karbala desert, and we invite them to continue and be unique in this specialty".

"The production and varieties of industrial potatoes that we have seen on the farm are of high quality,"al-Tayar said.

The Firdaws farm produces various agricultural crops, marketed for industrial and food uses, and as seeds for growing high-ranking varieties, and this project is moving towards achieving several goals, most notably supporting national products, as well as providing local job opportunities, which is clearly reflected in the economic sector of the country.
