The staffs of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine conduct a preventive campaign for palm trees in the area between the Two Holy Shrines

The staff of the department between the Two Holy Shrines at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine conducted a preventive campaign for palm trees located in the holy area.

Hatem Abdel Karim, the official of the afforestation and decoration unit in the Department, said,"as part of the Department's program prepared for the winter, a wide campaign was conducted to perpetuate palm trees located in the area between the Two Holy Shrines, and to combat fungi that cause diseases of blight and rot of flower inflorescences.

He added that"the campaign came in cooperation with the Karbala Agriculture Directorate, and included the use of pesticides of international origin, such as the Australian (Swift) pesticide".

For his part, the head of the prevention department at the Karbala Agriculture Directorate, Eng.Majid al-Bahadli, said that "the control operation conducted today is a periodic operation that takes place annually in the winter, and coincides with other agricultural operations such as grafting and cleaning Palm heads".

"The process of Palm sterilization and agricultural pest control is a preventive measure, and in some trees where a previous infection was observed, the procedure was therapeutic,"he continued.

The staff of the department between the Two Holy Shrines continues to implement the plans of its winter program, most notably the arrangement of gardens and trees of all kinds, which increases the splendor of the place to serve visitors to the two holy shrines.
