This came during a meeting with the director of the Civil Defense Department in the province of Karbala, Brigadier Abbas Hammoud Matroud, and listened to an explanation about the work of the Directorate and the challenges it faces.
Sayed al-Safi stressed in his speech that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine supports the efforts of civil defense teams in the province, because of the importance of their efforts in preserving the city and the safety of its people, while he directed to meet the needs of centers near the Old City.
Sayed al-Safi called for the establishment of an expanded conference for the owners of hotels and shops in the province to introduce the principles of safety and facing dangers and disasters, and the readiness of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to meet all its needs in the service of the public interest.
For his part, matroud said,"during the meeting with Sayed al-Safi, we touched upon the topic of prevention and safety requirements regarding the Old City, as well as the topic of major Ziyarat and protecting the lives of visitors and infrastructure."
He added that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provides unlimited support to the Directorate of civil defense by providing spare tools for vehicles, maintaining civil defense buildings, providing meals to employees during the major Ziyarat and interacting with the Directorate in holding courses and seminars related to preventive information.
