The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine organizes its central celebration on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of the Sha'ban moons

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine organized its annual central celebration on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of the Sha'ban moons; Imam al-Hussayn, his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas and Imam as-Sajjad (peace be upon them), which lasts for three days.

The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard overlooking the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him), was attended by the director of the Office of the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of officials of the holy shrine, heads of its departments and employees, as well as delegations and personalities representing many parties, in addition to a large number of visitors.

The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, read by the reader of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Laith al-Obeidi, followed by the speech of the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by Acting Member of its board of Directors Dr. Abbas al-Dada al-Mousawi, and began by congratulating those present and the Islamic nation on the blessed birth anniversaries of Sha'ban moons.

In his speech, al-Mousawi stated that " the month of Sha'ban is one of the seasons that Allah has granted to his servants, so we have to take the month as an important spiritual station to connect with the Almighty, to prepare oneself before the blessed month of Ramadan, and to maintain the link with the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), through inspiration of his human personality, imitating him, following his right approach, and the teachings of his eternal heavenly message".

He pointed out that,"one of the most prominent sources of maintaining the connection with our noble Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household), and documenting it in his month, is the affection in kinship, which Allaah, May He be exalted, has made the reward of the Mohammadian message in his saying in the verse of affection: "Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I do not ask you for a reward for this ˹message˺—only honour for kinship.”(42-23)

Al-Mousawi continued,"on the third of the month of Sha'ban, the Divine Will wrote the first line of a great book, which will be entitled al-Hussayn(peace be upon him), to embody in his biography the values of heaven and the principles of Islam."

After that, the audience listened to a selection of poems by the poets of Ahl al-Bayt(peace be upon them), namely the poet Mr. Masar Riad, Mr. Mohammed al-Fatemi and Mr. Karrar Hussein al-Karbalai, as well as there were chants co-presented by the Radood Hussein al-Akili.

After that, the names of the winners of the competition for the birth anniversaries of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), prepared by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine, were announced, which resulted in the victory of ten winners, who were alternately honored by the director of the Office of the Senior Official of the holy shrine, Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, and the deputy secretary general of the Imam Hussayn's (p) Shrine; Sayed Alaa Aal Dia-Uddin.
