The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine: More than 20 millions visitors took part in the commemoration of the Zyarat of Arba'een this year..

The Assistant Deputy Secretariat-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Ali Al-Saffar that the numbers of the visitors who have participated in the commemoration of the rituals of the Zyarat Arba'een this year exceeded 20 millions visitors from inside and outside Iraq.

He added: "The Zyarat Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) this year is marked by the increase of the number of visitors coming to the holy city of Karbala, whether from inside or outside Iraq, as the millions walked for hundreds of kilometres towards Karbala until all the roads were filled, hundred thousands rallied on the land border ports while the airports saw unprecedented flight movement and a significant increase in the number of flights."

Explaining: "some sources indicated a few days ago the arrival of more than 17 millions of visitors, and more the two millions from outside Iraq with tens of nationalities, noting that the Zyarat this year started since ten days and up to this moment millions are still entering the city."

Noting that some statements referred to Iraqi officials, like the Iraqi Defence Minister who stated the arrival of more than four millions Arab and foreign visitors.

While the Department of rituals, processions and Hussayni bodies in Iraq and the Islamic world that belongs to two holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) declared the following: "The number of the processions and the Hussayni bodies participating in the commemoration of the ritual of Zyarat Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is of 13.742 processions that included 48 Arab and Islamic processions, and including about 7.000 services' processions within the administrative borders of the province of the holy city of Karbala, in addition to thousands of processions that was not registered, as well as the host houses, houses, centres and Hussaynyat that have opened their doors to the visitors on all the roads leading the holy city of Karbala.
