The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held a forum on the birth anniversaries of the Mohammadian lights in the countries of Ghana and Senegal.
Director of the Center for African Studies of the Department Sheikh Saad al-Shammari said, "on the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversaries of the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the holy month of Sha'ban, the Center organized a group of celebrations in a number of African countries.
He added, "including in the state of Ghana, where the center held a ceremony of these blessed occasions attended by a gathering of followers and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and was supervised by Sheikh Abdel Nasser Akoury, and in Senegal, the center's coordinator, Sheikh Yahya Tor, organized the center's celebration of the birth anniversaries of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as it was held by the Society of the prophet and Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), which is one of the institutions affiliated with the center".
According to Al-Shammari, these celebrations come "to announce the manifestations of joy on these blessed occasions, and to spread the thought of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), their knowledge, virtues and their role in the authentic Mohammadian religion".
