Who was the wife of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas son of Ali Ibnu Abi Taleb (peace be upon them)?

Who was the wife of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas son of Ali Ibnu Abi Taleb (peace be upon them)? and what was her role in the immortal Battle of At-Taf?

Many narrations reported that Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was married to one woman only, she was "Lubabah daughter of Ubaydullah Ibnu Abbas", she was one of the most respected ladies of her time, regarding her family title, her purity and chastity, as she belongs to the Hashemi house, from which the Almighty God has chosen the last of His messengers (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household).

Her father: "Ubaydullah Ibnu Abbas" who was the governor of Yemen in the time of Imam Ali Ibnu Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them).

Her mother: "Um Hakeem daughter of Khaled Ibnu Qard Al-Kinanyah" who was one of the most beautiful and wise women of her time, she witnessed the killing of her two young sons "Abdurrahman and Quthm" by the Ripper "Busr Ibnu Arta'ah" one of the leaders of the army of Mu'awiyah Ibnu Abi Sufyan when he occupied Yemen, Ubaydullah was not able to withstand the Umayyad army, which urged him to leave Yemen without taking his two children, who were in the village area as was accustomed for the people of Arabian Peninsula to send their children to rise them in village conditions. When Busr knew it, he sent his soldiers to slaughter them.

Then, when the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) was informed of their killing he prayed against Busr saying: "O Allah, abduct his mind and religion!" Not long time after, the Almighty God avenged him, and answered the prayer of the Commander of the Faithful and Busr became senile and started behaving like a fool until he died and went to the fire of Hell.

So, Lady Lubabah lied then since young the conflict between the Hashemi House and the Umayyad, which is in fact a religious and ideological conflict as stated by Imam Zayn Al-'Abideen (peace be upon him): "We and Banu Umayyah are enemies for the sake of God, we said God said the truth and they said God lied." Until the peak of the conflict on Ashura day in Karbala after the assassination of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) at the altar of prayer and of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him).

Lady Lubabah at Karbala:
The noble and brave Lady Lubabah stood along with her husband in Karbala, sustained, supported and urged him to always stand by his brother the master of martyrs (peace be upon him), she remained by his side while he was hoisting the banner of the Hussayni revolution, the banner of faith, pride and redemption, until Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) registered in the History the finest and the most wonderful scenes of bravery, faithfulness and altruism...

After Karbala:
This lady continued sharing with lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) the misfortunes and pain, she withstood the arbitrariness of the ousted power and cruelty of the army of Banu Umayyah, as she was in the convoy of the painful captivity trip from Karbala to Kufa and then to Syria, and then from Syria back to Medina, as they completed the plan of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), with their patience and courage they exposed the injustice and tyranny of Banu Umayyah.

Narrations are varied about what happened afterwards to Lady Lubabah, one of them says that she didn't live long after the martyrdom of her beloved husband Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as it is stated that she died in year 63 AH (e. two years after his martyrdom) and she was only 25 years old, as she couldn't bear the intensity of the ordeal and the depth of the tragedy..

Her sons:
The most known narrations to the scholars that Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has one son "Ubaydullah," and they also agreed that his progeny was from his son "Al-Hassan", and Ubaydullah was one of the greatest scholars characterized by his beauty, perfection and virility, as Imam Zayn Al-Abideen (peace be upon him) who has raised him and thanks to his great status, he married him to his daughter along with three other free women of the noble families, intending to increase the number of the descendants of his uncle Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), he (peace be upon him) used to cry whenever he sees him, and he was asked for the reason, he (peace be upon him) replied: "I remember the attitude of his father the day of At-Taf and I can't control myself."

Some historians mention that Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has a son from Lady Lubabah whose name was "Muhammed" that he used to love so much, he had between his eyes the sign of prostration. The day of At-Taf, Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) presented his sons to martyrdom for the sake of his brother Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and then he brought this son, gave him a sword and then took the permission for him to go to the battlefield, Muhammad then kissed the hands and feet of his uncle and bid farewell to his aunts and fought with lot of courage and bravery until he was killed. Ibnu Shahr-Ashob mentioned him as one of the martyrs of At-Taf, but the author of the book "The Knights of Al-Hayja in the biographies of the companions of the Master of martyrs" mentioned the existence of Muhammed son of Al-Abbas but he said: "There is no historical evidence that a son of Al-Abbas was martyred in Karbala."

While other historians state that lady Lubabah had with Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) one daughter and five sons who are: Al-Fadl, Ubaydullah, Al-Hassan, Al-Qasem and Muhammed mentioned by Shahr-Ashob, while other sources mentioned only Al-Fadl and Ubaydullah.

And whatever the truth is, the descendants of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) were all respected and has high position between people as they were scholars, preachers, eloquent poets, generous and ascetics, unsurprisingly as they are the descendants of the great Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) who has the rare personality, privileges and morals that no one but him has.

This is what reached us from the biography of the venerable lady Lubabah wife of Al-Abbas son of Ali the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon them), and despite the fact that it is not much, but it sheds the light on the greatness and the special role of this honourable lady in the history, and we can say that it is enough pride for her to be the wife of the hero of the Hussayni timeless epic, the great Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and from their progeny came great personalities who has spread in the world the true religion, knowledge and blessings.
