With the end of the sorrows' season, the red flags of the shrines' domes of Abi Abdillah Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) are returned..

After the prayer of Isha on the 30th of Safar corresponding to the 23rd of December 2014, the black flags of the shrines' domes of Abi Abdillah Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) were replaced by the red ones with the coming of the month of Rabi' Al-Awwal 1436 AH, marking the end of the sorrows' season of the months of Muharram and Safar.

The flags' replacement ceremony came in conjunction with the announcement of the office of His Eminence Sayed. Ali Al-Sistani that Wednesday, the 24th of December is the first day of the month of Rabi' Al-Awwal, 1436 AH.

A large number of religious, cultural and political figures have participated in the rituals of this ceremony in addition to the large crowds of followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

It is worth mentioning that after the fall of the former regime in 2003 and for the tenth year in a row, on the 30th of Dhu Al-Hijjah, after the prayer of Isha, the ceremony of changing the flags of the shrines' domes of Abi Abdillah Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) from the red one to the black is launched, to mark the beginning of the month of sorrows of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their lovers and followers, the holy month of Muharram, in which the Master of the youth of Paradise, Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), the members of his family and companions were martyred in the tragic epic battle of At-Taf.
