The Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has completed the rehabilitation of the Gate of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), which is located on the north - eastern side of the holy shrine.
The head of the Department, engineer Dia Majid al-Sa'egh, said that" the staff of the department has completed the rehabilitation works of the Imam Ali gate(peace be upon him), as part of the expansion, rehabilitation and development of the gates of the Holy Shrine, "adding that"the final works included the old door and the corridors associated with the main entrance leading to it."
Al-Sa'egh explained that"the designs used in the rehabilitation of the door are in architectural and artistic harmony with the external entrance on the one hand, and with the holy sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him) on the other hand, to make the old Gates from the inside an integral part of their external entrances overlooking them".
He added that" the door is decorated with Karbala Kashi, which is covered with gold, with inscriptions and decorations inspired by the ancient Islamic heritage, and in accordance with the sanctity of the place, "stressing that"the design has preserved the old Shape of the door and its architectural heritage in a new way."
Al-Sa'egh explained that"the comprehensive maintenance was carried out for the door to show it in the best possible condition, and it was equipped with lighting, acoustics, monitoring and extinguishing systems".
"The project is implemented by the Ardh al-Quds Company for general contracting, and funded by the Shiite endowment bureau,"he said.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine pays great attention to the gates and entrances leading to the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him), as the main facades of the Holy Shrine.
