Al-Kafeel dates factory produces different and rare varieties and types

The Al-Kafeel Dates Factory of Al-Kafeel company for public investments in the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine produces different varieties and types of rare Iraqi dates to supply the local markets and export the surplus abroad.

The director of the laboratory, Eng. Mushtaq Abdul Jalil, said that"the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine paid great attention to the agricultural side, and established the Saqi farm, which contains multiple varieties of palm, and later resorted to producing a lab for packing and packaging dates on the same farm."

"The plant consists of five production lines, two of which are Main and three subsidiary, and the two main lines consist of date paste production lines (1 kg) and(5 kg), as well as the compressed date production line,"he added.

He pointed out that"the factory produces a variety of varieties of authentic Iraqi dates, namely (Burhi, Khastawi, Shukr, Khadrawi, yellow Shawthi, Mir Hajj, Amrani, Maktoum Mandali), which are among the distinctive varieties".

He explained that"the dough line (vacuum) goes through multiple stages starting with the processing stage of dates, then it goes through the (washing) stage, then the (sterilization) stage by exposing it to a certain temperature, and then the (core removal) stage, to come after the (squeezing) stage, and then it moves to the production machine".

He pointed out that"the laboratory has advanced machines that produce at one hour (600) kilos of dates dough Category (1 kilogram), and more than (one ton) of dates dough Category (5 kilograms)".

"The second production line goes through the same stages, and then it is filled with a special machine that produces (1200) kilograms per hour, and these are the two main lines that make up the plant,"the company's director said.

On the idea of establishing the factory, he explained that "the export of dates abroad was done through packaging and exporting them without going through those stages, which necessitated the idea of having a factory for packing and packaging dates in the country itself, in order to activate the Iraqi industry, and the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has paid great attention in this aspect."

Abdul Jalil revealed that "the laboratory exported to the state of Egypt about (60) tons of dates dough Category (5) kilograms, as well as distributed through the Al-Kafeel Centers located in all governorates, and will be among the Ramadan basket available in those centers".
