The scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has launched the Quranic Khatmahs project in five governorates with an average of (51) Khatmahs.

The project is organized by the Holy Quran Institute/ Najaf Al-Ashraf branch of the complex, with the participation of more than (120) readers.

The official of the Recitation Unit of the institute, Mr. Ahmed al-Zamili, said that " the Quranic Khatmahs were distributed in the province of Najaf, its districts and areas, Diwaniya (the center, the Hamza Sharqi, Sudair and Shannafiya districts), Basra (Zubair, Shatt al-Arab and al-Houta districts), Maysan (Al-Qumit district and Wasit)".

He added that "the Khatmahs are practical lessons to teach believers the correct reading of the Holy Quran, as well as the great reward of reading God's book in the holy month".

The Quranic Khatmahs, according to al-Zamili, included reading a part every day of the holy month of Ramadhan, in addition to a Quranic contest, which asks a set of Quranic, Fiqh, doctrinal and moral questions to those present at each Khatmah, and distributing gifts from the blessings of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to the winner of the competition, as well as devotional trips to Holy Karbala for participants in the Blessed Quranic project.
