The activities of the seventeenth annual Central festival were launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him) in the province of Babylon.
The festival is held by the supreme body of the Hilla project, the city of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him), under the auspices of the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
The participation of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was represented by the Hillah Heritage Center of the Department of Islamic and Humanitarian Knowledge Affairs, where it organized a memorial ceremony about the personality of Ibn al-Arandas al-Hilli, the writer of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The events began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the recitation of the Pride's Melody, followed by a welcoming speech by a member of the supreme body of the Hilla project, Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba City (peace be upon him), Mr. Mohammed Hassan Aboudi, followed by a speech by the Hilla Heritage Center presented by the director of the center, Sheikh Sadiq al-Khuwaildi.
"The center, with the unlimited support of His Eminence, the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, used to highlight an outstanding scientific personality who contributed to spreading awareness and knowledge in previous generations,"al-Khuwaildi said.
He added, " Our Choice this year fell on the personality of Sheikh Ibn al-Arandas al-Hilli, may Allah have mercy on him, to highlight his role and poetic contribution to the codification of historical events, including his great poems."
The ceremony included the screening of a documentary film about the personality of the scholar Ibn al-Arendas al-Hilli, followed by two poems by the poet Ali Hamid al-Hamdani and the poet Sabah al-Labban.
A book exhibition was held on the sidelines of the festival, which included a set of scientific and intellectual products of the Hillah Heritage Center.
