The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine concludes the largest international Quranic competition in Iraq

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine has concluded the competition of the Al-Ameed International Award for the Recitation of the Holy Quran in its first edition, which was held in conjunction with the advent of the holy month of Ramadhan.

The competition was organized by the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, with the participation of readers from (21) Arab and foreign countries.

The competition witnessed exciting competitions in its first ten episodes, as the participating readers competed to reach the advanced stages, and after several rounds of competitions, ten winners qualified for the semi-finals.

The qualifiers took place in the last four episodes of the competition, as a result of which five readers qualified for the final stage of the adult category, and five from the junior category, competed for the first three places, and three readers from the adult category and three from the junior category were crowned.

The order of the winners in the first places of the Junior category was as follows:
1. First place/ Mohammed Abu Bakr-Pakistan
2. Second place/ Ahmed Hassan Hamza-Iraq
3. Third place / Yasin Gholami-Iran

While the order of the winners in the first places of the adult category was as follows:
1. First place/ Ahmed Jamal al-Rikabi-Iraq
2. Second place/ Mahmoud El Sayed Abdallah-Egypt
3. Third place / Mehdi Rahmatollah Taqipour-Iran

The winners were honored by the member of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Laith al-Mousawi, with the shields of the competition, as well as financial prizes from the holy shrine, in addition to honoring the members of the judging committee of the competition.

The Al-Ameed Prize for Reciting the Holy Quran competition is an opportunity to enhance global Quranic communication and encourage Quranic competitions in the region and beyond, highlighting the efforts of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in supporting science and culture and encouraging their acquisition, and promoting the values of the Holy Quran in Islamic societies.
