The people of Karbala commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Najaf

The people of the holy city of Karbala commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) through a unified condolences' procession at his holy shrine in Najaf.

The head of the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies in Iraq and the Islamic world, affiliated with the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them); Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said that "the people of the holy city of Karbala used to organize every year a unified condolences procession to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful; Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), at his holy shrine in Najaf Al-Ashraf".

He added that " the procession included a condolence March that started from one of the roads leading to the Imam Ali's (p) Holy Shrine, with the participation of most of the Hussayni parties and people of Karbala, to conclude the march by holding a condolence Council in the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

"The two holy shrines played a major role in setting up some logistical and service matters, including providing vehicles for transporting visitors back and forth from Karbala to Najaf, in addition to coordinating the movement of the procession, which was supervised by the Hussayni rituals and processions Department,"al-Yasiri added.
