A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital performed a complex and successful operation on a baby girl suffering from a purulent effusion in the lining of the lung.

A specialist in Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the hospital, Dr. Ahmad Jawad al-Khafaji, said that"Al-Kafeel hospital received a baby girl from Babylon governorate, one and a half years old, suffering from a purulent effusion in the lining of the lung that caused damage to some of its parts as a result of respiratory infections that lasted more than forty days.

"The child did not have a correct diagnosis and it is not possible to treat the inflammation only by resorting to surgical intervention and preceded by careful preparation for the case,"he added.

"The operation was performed without any health complications for the patient, as the medical team worked to remove the inflammation and remove the damaged parts of the lung with the removal of the lining prone to inflammation,"Al-Khafaji pointed out.

He stressed that"the cumulative experiences and means of Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital had a big role in the success of this complex operation".
