At the Al-Kafeel Hospital.. A quick operation saves a young man from spinal cord damage as a result of vertebral fracture

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has successfully operated a young man with a spinal fracture.

The head of the team, Dr. Hossam al-Anbari: "a 16-year-old patient from Karbala governorate was hospitalized with a fracture and dislocation of the cervical vertebrae between the fourth and fifth vertebrae following a road accident," indicating that "after conducting the necessary medical tests, it turned out that the fracture was unstable, so our decision went towards surgical intervention quickly to prevent complications of the case."

"We were able to fix the fracture with high accuracy and implant artificial cartilage instead of the damaged one, while returning the vertebrae to their normal place without any complications during or after the operation," al-Anbari added, noting that "this type of operation is performed continuously in the hospital due to the availability of success factors of high-level means and expertise."
