The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has opened a new well in the Begum area of the city of Foumbot, Cameroon, as part of the Saqi Atasha Karbala project.
The project is implemented by the African Studies Center of the department, and the well was drilled in a remote village in the region, due to the fact that the population was suffering from drought and the lack of sources of life in their area.
The Saqi Atasha Karbala humanitarian project aims to provide water sources in remote and poor villages and areas in Africa, and has been able to provide water to thousands of families.
For their part, the villagers appreciated the efforts of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the center's administration for the humanitarian projects and programs it organizes throughout the year to care for people on the African continent.
