To carry on what it had started, the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine proceeds adding approximately 1000 m2 to the area of the holy shrine..

After the success of the establishment of the crypt (basement) of Imam Mohammed Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), which is located down the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from the northern side, which is the first Firstlings of the creation of other basements as it has proven its efficiency by receiving a great momentum of visitors (women) during the last Zyarat Arba'een, affirming its architectural success primarily and its efficacy in containing the visitors, prompting the Secretariat- General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to take a bold decision emanated of the growing confidence in its employees in the planning and the execution of projects, to initiate the second phase of the basements projects of the Al-Abbas's holy shrine, located down the holy hall of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), the holy name of the dearest person to Aba Al-Fadl (peace be upon him) will be given to this basement "crypt of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)" as it will in the direction of the holy shrine of the master of martyrs (peace be upon him).

This project is one of the projects to which the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has given great importance and made it at the forefront of the projects being implemented, as it is the firstfruits of its strategic projects that are new to the holy shrine, in particular, and to the rest of the holy sites in Iraq in general, being the first of its kind, considering it an important shift and an urban turning point that has joined the nobility and holiness of the place with the modernity of the design and execution. The holy shrine has harnessed all its potential in order to complete and accomplish this vital project on time.

Engineer Dea' Majeed Al-Sa'egh the head of the engineering projects department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which is directly overseeing the implementation of the projects with all its design and execution phases, has explained to the Al-Kafeel Network: "The crypt of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is located on the western side of the holy shrine in the area between the gates of the Owner of the Time and of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon both of them) with an area of approximately 1000 m2, with a length of 66m and width of 14,2m, equipped with all the amenities for the visitors as well as elevators and escalators without intersection with the movement of visitors. It will be built in the same way used in the creation of the crypt of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), noting that the process of lifting the initial layer of soil with sewage, electricity and other pipes has been completed, preceded by the works of covering the inner halls of the holy shrine with nylon to prevent the entry of dust to the rest of the facilities of the holy shrine, as well as creating a way to move the rubble and including a route for the passage of the vehicles from inside the holy shrine passing from the courtyard between the two holy shrines."

Adding: "Then, there will be the installation of concrete columns in an overlapping manner by 10cm and with a depth of 12m underground to form a wall surrounding the basement, which will prevent the groundwater flow if found, as well as to prevent the encroachment and the collapse of the walls to the interior and to create where to place pipes with depth of 1,5m... It will be divided into parts to ensure the continuation and the non-stop of works, God Willing."

Mr. Al-Sa'egh concluded: "It is normal for any project of this magnitude to face some obstacles, but all praise to Allah and with the blessings of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with the spiritual vigour of the workers of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine with all its departments, we will overcome all obstacles, to make out of this moral and spiritual support a motivation to complete the process of work in this project."
