The expansion Project of the holy shrine's gates of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) is going at an accelerated pace..

The horizontal expansion project of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas's (p) included many sub-projects that constitute this large and vital project, which is the first of its kind. the project of the gates' expansion of the holy shrine (the main entrances), is one of the projects that the Secretariat-General of the holy shrine gives a considerable attention, as it gives by its design and implementation a beautiful architectural piece of art that combines the beauty of the history and its heritage with the modern architectural techniques and skills, increasing the creativity of the designers and architects who also excelled in its implementation.

Al-Kafeel Network followed all the project's important stages, and met with the Engineer Dea' Majeed Al-Sa'egh, the head of the projects department a the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, who have stated: "Since we have put the initial designs for the gates expansion project of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), the Secretariat-General of the holy shrine were eager to use the specific Islamic elements and shapes used in the construction and engravings of the holy shrine in Iraq, and adding the characteristics specifying each shrine, this is why the accuracy and the quality of works of the lines, motifs and Quranic verses inscribed on the walls of every gate, consisted the most important characteristics of this project which were executed with high level of proficiency."

Adding: "The gates surrounding the holy fence are nine, which were expanded three times their old length to be large entrances that embrace the old gates. The length of the gate of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) for example was about 2,75m and became 11m after the execution of the expansion project, using special decorations and engravings for each entrance, using the gilded and streaky Karbala'i Kashi."

Explaining: "Some of the gates included special designs for domes and stalactites (Muqarnas) along with the installation of neon pieces used to write some of the titles of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and also the name by which each door will be identified, noting that each of them has its own featured design. The works need time and accuracy as we can't close the gates to let the visitors perform their rituals. And in the time when the works at the gate of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him) have been completed, other gates are still under works, and we hope -Inshallah- to finish at the beginning of the blessed month of Sha'ban amidst the joy of the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) at the birth anniversary of the clan's moon Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."
