Among the guidances of Sayed Al-Sistani to the Fighters on the Battlefields, the ethics of the Jihad..

There is no doubt that the Almighty God has opened the door of His Paradises to those he had chosen among others and called it the door of Jihad {But Allah will grant a much greater reward to those striving for His cause than to those who stay home (for no reason)} (4-95), but the Almighty didn't leave it without conditions and restrictions because of the exceptional conditions of the war. And this is what was confirmed by the narrations of the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as it is reported from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) that he said: "Surely jihad is one of the doors of Paradise, which Allah has opened for His chief friends. It is the dress of piety and the protective armour of Allah and His trustworthy shield." Peak of the Eloquence (Nahj Al-Balagha), Sermon 27.

Today, as the country lives under hard conditions and the Iraqi people faces the fierce barbaric onslaught, our religious authority stood up to show its responsibility towards the nation and to carry on its messianic role after submitting the historical fatwa of the sufficient duty to defend the land of Iraq and its sanctities, then the office of the Supreme Religious Authority Sayed Ali Al-Husayni Al-Sistani has issued a number of recommendations and guidance to the Fighters on the Battlefields. in which he highlighted the importance of respecting the ethics of Jihad as stated in the holy book of God and the narrations of the pure Household of the holy Prophet (Prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) who have put certain conditions for the Jihad and those who are in the battlefields. This came in the first point stated in the recommendations issued by the office of his eminence, as follows:

"Just as God, exalted is He, has called the believers unto Jihad [against the transgressors] and made it one of the pillars of religion, and just as God has privileged the Holy Warriors over those who do not fight [in Jihad], He, noble is His name, has placed certain conditions and etiquettes [on the conduct of Jihad]. Such conditions are necessitated by wisdom and mandated by the primordial nature of human beings. It is necessary, then, to learn these conditions and etiquettes thoroughly and to follow them sincerely, for the one who learns these conditions and follows them sincerely will receive his deserved reward and blessings from God, and the one who neglects these conditions will not receive [the blessings] he hoped for."
