Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital provided vaccines for viral hepatitis to its employees in cooperation with the Holy Karbala health department.
The infection control officer at the hospital, Mrs. Heba Ahmed Karim, said, " Our staff is in direct contact with patients, especially health staff, and there are many of these patients may have transitional diseases, so the hospital was keen to protect its employees and immunize them from infection with diseases, so it has provided the necessary vaccines for this .
She pointed out that the hospital is deliberately seeking accreditation, and that one of the conditions of accreditation is that all its employees receive vaccines for transitional diseases, in the event of any contact with the infected patient, the employee is immune from infection with that disease, pointing out that from this point of view, the hospital addressed the Karbala health department to provide the viral hepatitis vaccine and other vaccines come in succession.
For her part, Hanan Daoud Hussein (head of skilled nurses at a health center affiliated to the Karbala health department), said that "after addressing the Al-Kafeel Hospital to the Karbala health department, the required numbers of viral hepatitis vaccine were prepared by the health center and given to the hospital staff," indicating that "the turnout of the staff was excellent and everyone committed to taking the vaccine."
Dawood explained that the viral hepatitis vaccine is in three doses, the first dose is taken, followed by the second dose a month later, followed by the third dose after five months, and after five years, the person is examined to confirm whether or not he needs a booster dose that supports the immune system.
