Conclusion of the conference on the martyrs of the Speicher massacre

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine concluded the activities of the conference on the martyrs of the Speicher massacre, which was held on the sidelines of the eighth fatwa of the Holy Defense cultural festival.

The conference was organized by the Iraqi Center for the documentation of extremist crimes of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the holy shrine, in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Speicher massacre on the imam al-Hassan Hall(peace be upon him) at the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine.

The conference was held in the presence of members of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Laith al-Mousawi and Dr. Abbas al-Deda al-Mousawi and a number of department heads and officials, as well as the presence of official figures and families of martyrs.

The conference began with the recitation of verses from the holy quran by the reader Ammar al-Hilli, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by a speech by the director of the Iraqi Center; Sheikh Abbas al-Quraishi, followed by a speech to the families of the martyrs delivered by the media spokesman for the families of the martyrs of Speicher in Iraq, Dr. Qais mari al-Aidi.

The conference included a special research session that dealt with the effects of the massacre on Iraqi society, and the efforts exerted to document that crime in cooperation with international and regional institutions, for researcher Dr. Tha'er Ghaleb al-Khaqani.

The conference activities witnessed the recitation of poems from the poetry of the poet Ali Najm Abdullah, the poet Fadel Abbas Obaid, the poet Firas Kadhem, in addition to honoring a group of the families of the martyrs of the Speicher massacre.
