The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine raises the Wilayah flag on Eid al-Ghadeer as part of the devotional practice

The Courtyard of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him) witnessed the raising of the wilayah flag, which was given as gift by the Imam Ali's (p) Holy Shrine on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadeer, as part of the devotional practice.

The ceremony of raising the Wilayah flag was attended by the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, members of the board of directors and a number of heads of its departments and officials and the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the performance of the Ziyarat of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), then raising the Wilayah flag, and concluded with the delivery of a group of religious chants and songs about this blessed occasion.

Raising the Wilayah flag represents a renewal of loyalty to the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib(peace be upon him) as the successor of the messenger of Allah(Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), in Ghadeer Khum after the farewell Hajj.

The ceremony of raising the flag was held as part of the devotional practice performed by the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him), on Monday and Thursday of each week in the Holy Courtyard.

The Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine received the Wilayah flag of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) from the Imam Ali's (p) holy shrine last week, after it was handed over to the Holy Shrines in Iraq.
