The assistant head of the Department of rituals and processions in Iraq and the Islamic world, affiliated with the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them); Mr. Mohammed Tawil, said: "the people of the Holy Karbala, in cooperation with the department, celebrated the occasion of Eid al-Ghadeer at the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Najaf.
He added that "the department has worked to provide 50 buses to transport the believers to the honorable city of Najaf and return them after the completion of the revival of the rituals, as well as obtaining official approvals for the start of the procession and organizing its disembarkation and holding the grand ceremony inside the Courtyard of Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) in the Imam Ali's (p) holy shrine".
The procession is an annual tradition that the people of the holy city of Karbala have been keen to establish, in cooperation with the two holy shrines of Karbala, to commemorate the occasions of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
