The Husseini condolences processions continue their various activities for the third day of the month of Muharram, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them) in Ashura.
The processions continue with the Karbala condolences processions throughout the month of Muharram, as the Zinjeel processions from the people of Karbala flock to the Holy Shrines to commemorate the tragedy in an ongoing annual tradition.
One of the participants in the condolences processions, Mr. Mushtaq al-Mousawi, said that"the condolences processions in the first ten days of the month of Muharram are characterized by the participation of the people of Karbala, which is an inherited mourning custom, which begins with the descent of the Zinjeel condolences' processions at nine o'clock in the morning".
"The processions are not limited to offering condolences, but continue to provide various other services, including food distribution, the establishment of guidance and awareness councils, and the provision of various services to visitors,"he added.
The movement of Processions is organized according to a tight plan developed by the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies, to organize the processions' march through specific streets, starting from the Qibla gate to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), passing through his Holy Courtyard, heading through the square between the Two Holy Shrines, to conclude the funeral at the shrine of the master of martyrs; Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)،
The ritual department allocates teams of its staff to accompany each procession from the hour of its start, taking over the organization of the March, preventing Assembly or overcrowding, and ensuring that there is no intersection between the processions or with visitors, according to previously specified routes.
These events witness a wide participation from various segments of society, embodying the feelings of sadness and loyalty to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his family and companions on the sad anniversary of Ashura.
