Thousands of visitors commemorate the eve of the eighth of Muharram in Karbala

Visitors continue to commemorate the eve of the eighth of the month of Muharram at the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in the holy city of Karbala.

Large crowds of mourners from various regions of Iraq and the world flocked to the two holy shrines in Karbala, in preparation for the tenth day of Muharram, the day on which Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them).

The mourners are keen to commemorate this tragedy, as an embodiment of the principles of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his great sacrifices for the sake of truth and Justice.

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has prepared, through its departments and formations, a condolence and service program to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them) on the day of Ashura.
