The head of the Department, Mr. Nasser Hussein Miteb, said that"the specialized staff of the department has started harvesting the crop of palm dates grown inside the southern green belt, on a daily basis in conjunction with the date picking season".
He added that"the varieties of dates that will be harvested this year are diverse, as they are collected after harvesting to put them on local markets after the end of the picking process, which lasts more than a month."
"The percentage of dates that will be harvested this year is more than last year, in which we produced about 250 tons," Miteb added, noting that "the reason is due to the processing of Palms, fertilizing them and following up the process of watering them constantly".
