Proceeding from the verse: {And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears...} (24:31), under the slogan: "from her values' sources we follow her Hijab" and to coincide with the birth anniversary of Our Lady of purity and chastity, the immaculate Saint Fatima Az-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held in the third year in row within the national project of Al-Kafeel Youth, a ceremony to honour 350 college student from those who wear the (Iraqi) Abaya Zaynabiya.
This honour comes to rooting and spreading the culture of Hijab in the university community within the college students, because Hijab represents chastity and purity following the steps of Lady Az-Zahra and Zaynab (peace be upon both of them).
The ceremony of honour was held at Sheikh Al-Kulayni complex of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine by the attendance of a number of professors and lecturers as well as the awardees students accompanied by their parents. The ceremony began with the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran followed by the word of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sayed. Mohammed Al-Musawi from the Department of Religious Affairs, in which he explained that: "The philosophy of Hijab is mentioned in the Holy Quran, and she who claims the love of Lady Fatima and Lady Zaynab (peace be upon them) has to take the action and follow their steps in chastity by wearing the Hijab even in the most extreme circumstances and during the hard difficulties, so to follow them, girls have to adhere to this clothing that embodies the love of chastity, which is an attribute that we learned from Lady Fatima (peace be upon her)."
During the ceremony poems about Hijab and chastity were read, urging the students to adhere to it and to be a good example for the rest of the students.
Dr. Maladh Salloomi, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Babylon has stated: "We thank the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for this initiative for the third year in row, as in the first year we began with fifty students while this year we are honouring three hundred and fifty students, which is an encouragement for our students to keep their modesty and chastity, taking as model Our Lady Fatima Az-Zahra (peace be upon her). And we thank both holy shrines for their precious initiatives to educate and increase the religious awareness of the students."
