Surgeon at Al-Kafeel hospital: we have special techniques for difficult neonatal operations

A doctor specializing in Pediatric Surgery at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital revealed the existence of special techniques in the hospital that made it possible to perform special and super-major operations for very young children.

"A two-month-old child suffers from the presence of a fourth-degree coccygeal tumor, whose case was discovered in one of the health centers in Diyala Governorate,"said Dr. Sarmad al-Rubaie.

Al-Rubaie added," We admitted the child to the operating theater, and after the surgical incision was made, it turned out that the tumor is connected from the bottom of the spine to the coccyx bone, "noting that"the tumor is considered embryonic and originated from the coccyx bone, and is detected in the first weeks after birth."

The pediatric surgeon explained that "the supra-major operation took three hours; it was prepared excellently with a distinguished anesthesia team".

Al-Rubaie pointed out that "performing this type of operation requires careful surgical work and an excellently trained team, as well as the presence of special techniques that enabled us to perform the operation," stressing "the success of the operation during which the tumor was completely removed".
