The week will be held by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the holy shrine, in cooperation with Muthanna and Diyala universities for the period from September 17 to 20, 2024.
The assistant head of the House of the Great Prophet of the department, Dr. Laith Qabel al-Waeli, said that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine launched the activities of the week of the Great Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), which comes within a series of cultural and scientific activities concerned with his auspicious birth occasion".
He added that"the week aims to clarify the legacy that was written about the Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), and to create intellectual cross-fertilization between religious and academic institutions, starting from the Twelfth until the ending on the seventeenth of the month of Rabi 'al-Awwal".
Al-Waeli continued that "the week's events are held in three main locations: (the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine, Muthanna University, and Diyala University), and include a variety of activities, including: academic lectures and poems, which shed light on multiple aspects of the noble biography of the Prophet".
For his part, the dean of the Faculty of basic education at Muthanna University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jubouri, stressed that "the week's stay at Muthanna University comes within the continuous cooperation between the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine and the university, as our college was honored to embrace its diverse activities."
He explained that"the events include the presentation of research and critical readings distributed between two disciplines, namely the Arabic language through activating the connotations of some words, and the specialization of history by dealing with the biography of the Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) in prose, poetic and historical texts".
