Under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the first Quranic Contest of the schools' group of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was concluded..

On Saturday 6th of Rajab 1436 AH corresponding to the 25th of April 2015 in the Complex's hall of the Sheikh Al-Kulayni of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the closing ceremony of the first Quranic Contest of the schools' group of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was held by the educational cooperative at the Department of Education under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. The ceremony that was attended by many has included also the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of the Mahdawi program in hundred days.

The ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran by the reader Mustafa Al-Hamdan, then reading Surat Al-Fatiha for the sould of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the word of the head of the Department of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Abbas Rachif Aldadah in which he explained: "We have started the first step in encouraging our students to memorize the holy Quran and to know its meanings and the rules of its recitation by rooting it in their minds and hearts to push them to learn from it the thought and the morals, as this age category has an easiness in the rapid memorization and learning."

He added: "We began with this strategy for the development of their competition spirit and to raise the level of memorization and recitation. The total of the participating students were during the play-offs 1285, only 18 were selected to represent three categories according to three criteria that include the rules of recitation, the voice and the tone. And we would thank so much the Holy Quran Institute at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the great efforts made for the success of this competition."

Noting: "The second part is the Al-Mahdawi program that we aim through it to teach the students their responsibilities in the time of occultation of the Imam of the Advent (may Allah hasten his reappearance), identifying the introductory reasons for the acceleration of his holy appearance and how to activate them on the ground. This program was designed to be for ten minutes daily in hundred days as well as investing Fridays in the performance of the rituals and acts of worship recommended by the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). 150 female and male students of the middle school have participated in it, all of which have undergone a final test in which only three students have failed."

Then the final contest was launched with the participation of 18 students, then the winners were nominated and the awards and the appreciation certificates were distributed, after which all the attendees headed towards the opening of a photo exhibition, which embodied the achievements and activities of the Department of Education at the holy shrine.
