The Relief Committee of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced the provision of more than 15 thousand meals a day to the Lebanese displaced in Syria.
"The Central Kitchen, established by the holy shrine in Syria, provides more than 15 thousand meals a day to the displaced Lebanese,"said committee member Sheikh Haider al-Aredhi.
"The committee's efforts are continuing to provide meals to the displaced by providing three main meals according to an organized distribution mechanism that relies on contractors, each of whom distributes hundreds of meals to displaced residents in shelter centers, to ensure that food support reaches everyone regularly,"he added.
The holy shrine has started providing medical services to the Lebanese displaced in Syria through a special field hospital equipped with all necessary medicines and supplies, as well as providing places to shelter the displaced and renting many hotels to accommodate them,"he said.
In the previous days, the holy shrine sent three convoys of humanitarian aid, the first was by air through Baghdad International Airport, the second by land from the Holy Karbala, which included 40 vehicles carrying 400 tons of relief materials and the necessary supplies needed by the Lebanese people, in addition to 3 fuel carriers with a capacity of 36 thousand liters, and the third convoy included about 1200 tons of food, medicine, fuel and water, distributed to 55 trucks.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine received 170 people as part of the first meal of displaced Lebanese families at the Sheikh Al-Kulayni complex in the holy city of Karbala, with all their needs provided.
The holy shrine is keen to provide support and assistance to the Lebanese people, in response to the call of the supreme religious authority and in solidarity with the brotherly Lebanese people in their current crisis, to do what contributes to alleviating their suffering and securing their humanitarian needs.
