The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Ameed University stressed its endeavor to prepare qualified people capable of entering the industrial fields and research centers to improve the level of health services in Iraq.
The head of the technical side in the laboratories of the pharmacy branch at the College, Dr. Laith Zaini, said:"the college is working to prepare qualified students who are able to enter the industrial fields and research centers of the pharmaceutical fields, and make them more effective to serve the community and improve the level of health services in Iraq."
He added that"in the first academic stage at the College, the student receives topics related to pharmaceutical calculations and basic principles of Pharmacy, in addition to acquiring knowledge bases, then in the second stage he takes classes in physical pharmacy in both theoretical and practical aspects, while in the third he will learn how to prepare medical prescriptions within the proper rules and controls according to the constitutions of medicines for this field".
He pointed out that" in the first semester of the fourth stage, the student will learn the topics of Life Pharmacy and everything related to the places where the drug enters the human body, its transmission and movement between the organs and tissues of the body, how to provide the dose to the patient, and the difference in biocompatibility of the drug, while he will specialize more in industrial journals in the second semester, "pointing out that"the fifth stage includes addressing the topic of Industrial Pharmacy, as he begins to learn the methods of manufacturing medicines, compressing and preparing pills and everything he needs in the productive side, as well as conducting an assessment of it according to international standards."
"Al-Ameed University provides advanced equipment and laboratories that keep pace with technological progress in the world, and managed to get the first places among Iraqi universities in various scientific classifications,"Zaini continued.
