The library of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, advanced digital services and efforts to meet the needs of researchers

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Digital Library seeks to provide integrated digital services by keeping pace with the technological development in the library field, to provide scientific services that meet the needs of researchers and specialists.

This initiative comes as part of efforts to support and develop the educational and cultural system by providing digital resources and modern services aimed at facilitating access to knowledge and enhancing the academic and cultural aspect.

Preservation of Iraqi scientific output
The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine digital library was developed by the digital information center of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine library, which is part of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs.

Since its establishment, the center has worked on adopting the latest technical means to ensure the provision of digital content with the highest international quality standards, and attention to raising the status of the Iraqi scientific product through digitization and preservation, which enhances the scientific status of Iraq at the local and international levels.

The Library seeks to be an integrated digital library that serves a wide segment of Iraqi society, such as researchers and university students, and provides services that allow members to benefit from various easily and effectively available knowledge sources, within national goals to promote scientific and cultural growth.

Remote lending service
Among the distinctive services provided by the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine digital library is the remote lending service, as the researcher can borrow digital sources for up to seven days.

This service is available free of charge, and includes professors and graduate and primary students at Iraqi universities, and the beneficiary has the right to request a maximum of four sources once a week, commensurate with his academic specialization.

The service of knowing the percentage of plagiarism
This service is one of the important tools provided by the digital library, as it allows graduate students to examine their academic research through the "Turnitin" program approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.

The service is limited to members who are graduate students at Iraqi universities, and it aims to help them develop their research in accordance with international academic standards.

Gifting digital sources
The library provides a window for receiving digital resource gifts from researchers, making it easier for researchers to share their scientific work. The library also provides the one who sent the gift with a letter of thanks and appreciation via his e-mail, in a step aimed at encouraging scientific cooperation and enhancing the spirit of participation in the development of digital content.
