Continuous and great efforts made by the staff of the carpets washing's factory of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine..

The staff of the carpets washing's factory of the Department of the sanctuary's care of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, make exceptional, diligent and sustained efforts in washing all carpets and mats of the holy shrine and its various facilities in addition to some other sanctuaries and Hussaynyat, to complement the series of the blessed services made by the servants of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

Al-Kafeel Network visited the factory located at Sheikh Al-Kulayni Complex, to meet with its director Mr. Qasem Ali Abbas who explained the following: "In this factory we wash all types of carpets and blankets of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its various facilities of different sizes and measurements, in addition to washing the carpets and mas of some sanctuaries such as Masjid Al-Kufa and the Sanctuary of Zayn Ibn Ali and Al-Hurr (peace be upon them) as well as some processions and Hussaynyat especially during the season of millions of visitors, all of which is provided free of charge after submitting a request to the administration then obtaining the approval by due process. And as a kind of yield management we wash the carpets of the citizens at affordable prices."

Adding: "The staff of the factory is of 12 employees working by shifts system, to continuously wash the carpets and blankets, which number per day goes from 50 to 60 carpets and from 250 to 500 blankets, a number that we can exceed according to what is sent to us."

As for the machines used in the factory, he stated: "The factory contains five washing machines of different origins that are characterized by high durability and strength, in addition to two drying machines, an electric brush, a washing wheel and a special squeegee for carpets' washing. The process of washing carpets differ from that of the blankets, as the carpet is put in the washing wheel that help to rotate and flip the carpet in order to remove the dust and dirt, then the carpet is washed only with water to ensure its purity followed by washing it with mixture of several cleaning powders using the electric brush, then adding a perfume to give the carpets a nice smell. At the end of this washing process, the carpet is put in the drying machine then hanged to be exposed to the sun's rays. This process takes 10 to 15 minutes for the small rug and almost half hour for bigger carpets.
As for the blankets' washing, we put 8 to 10 blankets in the washing machine per wash, the prescribed quantity for each machine, and after completion, they are put in the drying machine then hanged to be exposed to sunlight, a process that takes almost 10 minutes."

It is worth mentioning that the department of the shrine's care is one of the active departments that work day and night in the provision of services inside the holy shrine through maintaining the cleanliness, the organization and perfuming the sanctuary, as well as putting in order the books and other duties.
