The secretaries general of the holy shrines in Iraq stressed the importance of continuous communication and exchange of experiences in various fields to provide the best services to visitors.
This came during the special meeting of the general secretaries of the holy shrines of Imam Ali, Imam al-Hussayn, Imam al-Kadhem and Imam al-Jawad, Imam al-Hadi and Imam al-Askari, and of al-Abbas (peace be upon them), which was held at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
"The meeting addressed the importance of continuous communication between the holy shrines and the exchange of experiences in various fields, such as medical, health, educational, religious and cultural, and joint projects,"said the secretary-general of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin.
"The meeting discussed ways to provide the best services to visitors and provide them with amenities," he added, noting "the importance of the role of the holy shrines in receiving millions of visitors throughout the year.
For his part, the secretary general of the Imam Ali (peace be upon him); Mr. Issa Al-Khorsan, said that "the meeting represents an important opportunity to exchange ideas and visions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the Holy Shrines, to upgrade the level of services provided to visitors, and witnessed a discussion of a number of axes in various fields".
The secretary general of the Imam al-Hussayn (p) holy shrine; Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abaiji, said that "the holy shrines are civilized and religious entities that have a great weight on the Iraqi, Islamic and humanitarian arenas, and that today's conference was to strengthen commonalities, which is a source of strength for the holy shrines, as we must communicate and solidarity to face the challenges, difficulties and developments to which many peoples have been exposed".
He added that " the holy shrines have great contributions in supporting the brothers and their relief, whether in Palestine, Lebanon or Syria, through the provision of medical services, food, shelter, and treatment of the wounded," noting that "any meeting between the shrines under these sensitive circumstances is a source of strength for faith, religion and for all joints of society, because it is a safe haven and represents stability and civil peace."
The secretary general of the holy shrine of Imam al-Kadhem and Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon them); Dr. Haidar al-Shammari, pointed out "the need to support the Holy Shrines by the concerned authorities in the Iraqi government, through the allocation of the necessary funds and adequate financial funding, to be able to perform their tasks and duties assigned to them in accordance with Sharia and the law".
In his speech, Al-Shammari highlighted the great role played by the holy shrines, especially the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine, in addressing crises, such as the ISIS terrorist attack on some Iraqi provinces, as well as hosting Lebanese guests of Iraq as a result of Israeli attacks on their country, praising the efforts of His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, its secretary general and its staff in serving visitors.
In the same context, the secretary general of the shrine of Imam al-Hadi and Imam al-Askari (peace be upon them); Dr. Nafi Jamil al-Khuzai, stressed that "the Holy Shrines are working to enhance communication between different segments of society," pointing out that "the meeting included the presentation of views and the exchange of ideas on many topics to achieve sustainable development in the work within the Holy Shrines, in addition to adopting issues of common interest and working to implement them."
